  • Of course. Your timeline is your own, and you should feel all your feelings. The program will give you tools to support you through those times, whenever they may come up.

  • This course is self-directed. If you need 1:1 support or assistance, someone from the lovelew team will jump in to help.

  • This is up to you. This is a program to support you through your grief, created by a licensed therapist. The Light After is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not intended to provide medical advice or to take the place of treatment from a physician or therapist.

To my fellow traveler in healing,

Hi. I’m so sorry we’ve crossed paths under these circumstances, but I’m truly grateful you’ve found your way here. I know the world of trauma can feel confusing, isolating, and overwhelming.

The journey that led me to create Grief On Purpose started in 2007, when I was 26. Beau—my on-again, off-again boyfriend and best friend in the world—died unexpectedly of a heroin overdose. That loss shattered my world, but as I navigated the deep grief that followed, I began to realize something even bigger:

His death wasn’t the only thing I needed to heal from.

As I moved through my grief, I began to uncover layers of trauma that had been there long before Beau died—family dynamics, old wounds, unresolved pain that shaped how I coped and how I lived. And yet, when I looked for support, for answers, for real tools to help me heal that deeper hurt—I came up empty.

This became my turning point. The world offered me plenty of advice on "moving on," but not enough about how to move through trauma with compassion and care. I knew I wasn’t alone in that struggle.

Through my own healing (and because of it), I created Grief On Purpose—a space for women navigating grief and trauma. It’s a place for those of us who have carried invisible weight for too long. Our team isn’t just made up of professionals—we are women who have been there. We’ve felt that rawness, that disconnection, that sense of “I should be fine by now”… and we know healing takes more than platitudes.

We created The Light Within as an extension of the work we do every day. This self-guided trauma healing course offers you the tools, the understanding, and the space to gently reconnect with yourself—to move through your trauma at your own pace, with care and clarity.
