What Are The Stages Of Grief?
Please know that the stages of grief are not linear, and are not exclusive. By this I mean that you probably will experience each stage of grief, but you won’t experience them in order, you won’t experience them once, you will never “complete” them, and you will also experience a lot of other emotions.
The stages of grief are also commonly misunderstood. They were originally coined by Elisabeth Kubler Ross based on her work with people who were dying. The stages of grief were originally defined as experiences that someone who has a terminal illness goes through, not as the experiences of someone who is grieving the death of someone else.
The Stages of Grief are known as DENIAL, ANGER, BARGAINING, DEPRESSION, & ACCEPTANCE. There is nothing wrong with any of these experiences.
